Forceful Inspiration

To me, page workouts are spiritual. It’s what I do to escape life, purchase release stress, troche think deeply and block ALL negativity. Apart from abiding by the 5 Pillars of Islam and submitting to Allah, the gym’s my second goto place for spirituality.

In order for me to reach that kind of spirituality I need to get away from it all, including this blog and Core Fitness, which is why I opt to train in the morning at Oxygen Gym where no one knows me or asks me any questions.

Now That’s Out of the Way

12 months ago, a handicapped overweight 35-ish year old man wheelchairs in the gym. The moment I saw him, I thanked Allah for all that he has given me in terms of physical features and characteristics.

Lets recap: handicapped, clinically overweight, on a wheelchair without the ability to wheel himself around.

The amount of effort this guy musters every single day to come to the gym at 9 am in the morning is unbelievable. I don’t know exactly what he has to go through, but I do know it’s nowhere as easy as what I go through. And I’m the type that bitches and moans to get ready for anything.

So Anyways

12 months later or so (as of today), he:

  • Lost 75% of his original weight
  • Walks on a walker all by himself
  • WALKS WITHOUT A WALKER to reach for a weight plate or dumbbell and
  • Squeezes out more weights and reps than most of the fully-functional gym rats there

Moral of This Story

This is the part where I forcefully inspire you guys. It’s a rant too, so get ready:

  • There are still people who religiously abide by the “you live only once” mantra in life. Screw you guys. Seriously. And I know there are A LOT of you out there.
  • Nagging and bragging to look like this, yet fail to put in the effort. I ran into a guy a few days ago who wants to look like a fitness athlete but doesn’t feel like prepping his food, buying his food or having anything to do with food. F*ck your life bro.
  • Fatties who are only getting fatter by the day and show absolutely no sign of stopping. F*ck your lives in 10 years or so when you start suffering from lower back problems, knee problems, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, organ failure, strokes, heart attacks and of course impotency.
  • Non-stop anabolic / androgenic steroid users who abuse the hell out of these drugs for the sake of image rather than health. I cannot emphasize how epically SCREWED you guys are going to be if you continue this trend.

Think of the less fortunate the next time you start making up excuses. You’re hurting yourself and loved ones. The handicapped go through obstacles and challenges every single day, and the moment we see hardships we shy away like little spoiled screw-ups with absolutely zero potential.

This truly saddens me. I feel sorry and disappointed by the physically able and gifted.

Welcome back Fahad. We all missed you a lot. We got used to having a couple of new posts everyday & it was really difficult to not have anything new for the past few days. I am sure most of your readers would agree to this.

On a side note, are you back to working out early morning? In your “Myth busting lifestyle” post you mentioned training in the afternoon (2:30).
