The Sultan Center’s Healthy Bread Rolls: Total Bust?

In regards to a very recent post, viagra I promised you guys I’d dissect and analyze these scrumptiously looking breads you see above.

From the immediate looks of it, they look SUPER healthy- but are they what they seem to be? Let us take a closer look at the ingredients.

Multi-Cereal Bread Rolls

Analysis: Ingredients are listed from MOST to LEAST.

  1. Multi-cereal flour: This is pretty much a crap shoot. Multi-cereal doesn’t mean it’s WHOLE WHEAT or WHOLE GRAIN. It could be unbleached white flour with cereal grains, which is still NOT whole wheat or whole grain. BEWARE: MULTI-CEREAL IS NOT WHOLE GRAIN.
  2. Salt: Nothing wrong here, as long as there isn’t a copious amount of it, which I’m assuming there isn’t.
  3. Shortening: YIKES! Did you know that shortening is just another word for “trans fats“? These partially hydrogenated suckers will stick to you like a psycho obsessive girl friend!
  4. Yeast: Nothing wrong here.
  5. White Flour: The addition of this stuff pretty much solidifies that the bread roll is NOT whole wheat or whole grain- there is not excuse for using it. You can STILL make bread without using white flour.

TryingtobeFahad’s Suggestions

Ingredient List from Most to Least: Whole Wheat Flour, Multi-Cereal Grains, Salt, Yeast and all-natural butter if you absolutely MUST have it for whatever reason needed.

Hi-Fiber Bread Rolls

Analysis: Ingredients are listed from MOST to LEAST. Same rules apply as the above.

  1. Flour: Another crap shoot- white flour? Wheat flour? What kind of flour? If it’s wheat, then it’s still NOT WHOLE WHEAT. From the looks of it, this is white flour. Why?
  2. Wheat Flour: Because wheat flour comes in second. Like I said earlier, wheat flour is not whole wheat flour. This MIGHT be a labeling mistake- they might have used whole wheat flour but forgot to add “WHOLE“. Remember, the word “WHOLE” is very very very important.
  3. Wheat Crushed: It’s called “Crushed Wheat“. This stuff is very good- it’s CRUSHED whole wheat flour seeds.
  4. Gluten: Nothing wrong here. If your allergic to it then avoid this bread.
  5. Yeast and Salt: Nothing wrong here.
  6. Bran: Bran is GOOD! Bran is GREAT! Bran is AWESOME! Why is it 7th?! This should be the second ingredient!
  7. Shortening: This rancid fat makes its unnecessary appearance once again.

TryingtobeFahad’s Suggestions

Ingredient List from Most to Least: Whole Wheat Flour, Bran, Crushed Whole Wheat, Salt, Yeast, Gluten and all-natural butter if you absolutely MUST have it for whatever reason needed.

Fahad’s Take

Dear Sultan Center, I urge you to listen and change the ingredients as per what I have posted. Until then, I suggest my readers to wait until TSC releases a better version. Don’t get me wrong- the potential is there, but needs simply tweaking.

P.S. TSC sells 100% Whole Wheat Pita Bread without shortening or white flour. Check them out [here]!
